June Creations

This is the science experiment Lydia taught us:
Supplies: milk (we used 1%), dish soap, food coloring, cotton swab, pie tin or platePour milk into the pie tin (or other flat dish). Place a few drops of food coloring around the milk. (We learned later that near the center works better.)
Dip the cotton swab into dish soap.
Place dish soap end of cotton swab in center of milk.
Watch the fireworks!
Why it works: the dish soap repels the fat in the milk

Young Women project:
These are some "temple blocks" that I made as a Book of Mormon reading reward for our young women. We are reading the Book of Mormon in 3 months this summer, and the girls earn a small reward after completing most books. This is what they got after completing 2 Nephi - you know, since Nephi built a temple. Shawn cut up and sanded a 2x4 for me, I painted them black and antique white, and then decoupaged this print onto the block. I had them printed 4 to a 4x6 print. I found the print here: lds handouts under "visiting teaching." She has many different temples on her blog.Link
